Meet Ashley

Hi there! It’s about time I must say.

First– I want to thank you for stopping by and welcome you to the Curls Fo’ The Girls blog. It has been a long time coming, and I’ve finally decided to put pen to paper.. well, fingers to keyboard.

I am the sole creator of Curls Fo’ The Girls; I’m New York City native and all around beauty enthusiast. I big chopped on 5.11.2012 after transitioning for 9mos, and I mini chopped on 12.28.2013 after longing for a change. I consider myself to be a glamazon and a recovering product junkie.

I created Curls Fo’ The Girls as a platform to share my beauty knowledge and experiences, while encouraging women to embrace their naturally, curly hair. The blog provides a space for me to interact with readers, but also for readers to interact with me and reference the posts later on. I will incorporate as many topics as possible (hair routines & products, tips & tricks, and the like!) with help from family, friends, and my #curlfriends

I am very much obsessed with my curly hair, and I am very happy that I chose this path. I have probably received more compliments as a curly girl than I did when my hair was chemically processed. It wasn’t always easy, but it was so worth it.

I have a special place in my heart for beauty, and I enjoy talking about it and the beauty of natural hair. The support from the natural hair community is dope! It’s amazing to see so many different women with unique textures, embracing and encouraging women on their own, individual journeys.

I just want to thank everyone that pushed me in this direction– all the questions I’ve received, all the compliments, and everything I’ve learned– here’s to you all!
